Be Aware: There’s a New Scam in Town!

BE AWARE THERE’S A NEW SCAM IN TOWN!  Earlier this year, many of our clients received important information from the firm about the new “FinCEN Reporting Requirement,” which took effect on January 1, 2024.  Any entity currently registered with the Massachusetts Secretary of State including LLC’s, Trusts, and Corporations must register with the federal government.  In our notice to clients, we provided complete information on how to comply with this new requirement.

We are now hearing reports of several scams where clients are sent solicitation letters with bogus reporting websites. Some of these scams are trying to charge you for reporting when it is in fact free to report on the correct government website. Others are simply trying to steal as much identifying information from you as possible.   

The correct website to use is https://boiefiling.fincen.gov.

If you receive a notice in the mail with a website contained therein that is NOT the website above, this is a scam. DO NOT USE THIS SITE TO SUBMIT YOUR CLASSIFIED INFORMATION AND PAYMENT.
